Hebron Childern Home
This Home was started with an aim to raise up destitute, orphan and poor children irrespective of caste, creed etc. It was started on the 4th March 2006 with Rs.15,000/- sanctioned by CBA. At first, 6 girls and 4 boys selected out of more than 50 applicants were admitted. The Board could not afford to keep more than 10 children with no source of fund. We depends on God by faith. At first these children were admitted in a governmentHigh school where no tuition fee is needed to be paid. For their all round expenses including Mess, CBA, at their own humble capacity sanctions Rs.5,000/- per month which is less than enough for 10 children plus two wardens. The Home is managed by donations from different people and organizations.
God has been good to us and from 2007, children were admitted in a better school (Private School) with funds donated by well wishers. Uniform, Books, Admission fees were paid and also two new students were admitted in the Home and now 7 girls and 5 boys were staying. Two wardens (male & female) looked after them on voluntary. CBRD could not afford to give salary except small amount of honorarium paid when there is fund.
Construction of Kitchen-cum-Dining Hall which was started in the year 2006 from donations from different people is completed this January 2008. The whole expenditure for the Kitchen-Cum-Dining Hall is Rs.2,32,035.50. As their thatched Kitchen is still in good condition, the Board is trying to use this Hall for Girls’ Dormitory.
Children staying in the Home, in their spare time works in the Farm and at present they have 1000 Pineapple plant which they will harvest in 2009 and also 2000 Passion fruit plant which some of it bears fruit this year.
